Heavy Equipment Operator

American Mulch Producers is a wholesale mulch production company located in Southfield, MI. During the summer months, we are producing, selling, and delivering bulk mulch to local garden centers, supply yards, landscapers, and homeowners. We recycle clean logs and wood chips all year round and recycle leaves during the fall. During the winter months, we are a bulk and bagged salt supplier open 24-hours during inclement weather.

We are a family-owned business seeking a self-motivated, hardworking, experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. Looking for those with experience operating heavy equipment such as CAT 906, CAT 930G, CAT 930H, VOLVO L50, VOLVO L120, Rotochopper Horizontal Grinder, Morbark Tub Grinder ,McCloskey Trommel.

Must be able to operate a Wheel Loader to load materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate Front End Loaders
  • Load materials into customer and company trucks
  • Communicate with customers while loading trucks
  • Assist with mulch production and wood grinding
  • Inspect equipment before and after use, clean and assist with repairing as needed
  • Perform general maintenance including but not limited to greasing and routine maintenance on loaders and trucks, washing equipment
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures

Applicants must have a clean valid drivers license.

Experienced CDL A Drivers

Responsibilities:

  • Transport bulk mulch and salt locally to landscape supply yards, garden centers, and wholesale clients.
  • Hauling of mulch, salt and soil materials locally
  • Haul material from production yard to storage yard
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and report as needed to management
  • Truck cleanliness and daily maintenance of truck
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of gravel train experience
  • Valid doubles endorsement
  • Valid DOT Medical card and clean truck driving record with no restrictions on license
  • Ability to operate an 18 speed
  • Must be able to drive a Manual
  • Experience operating walking floor trailers 43’ – 53’ trailers
  • Must have common knowledge of GPS operation and ability to operate and navigate truck in a safe manner at all times

Seasonal Chauffeurs License Dump Truck Drivers

Seasonal Chauffeurs License Dump Truck Drivers to join our team. We are a seasonal business looking for individuals who would like to work 40+ hours April through August and be laid off for the remainder of the year.

Qualifications:

  • Chauffeurs License with valid DOT Medical Card
  • Must have at least one-year of dump truck driving experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Transport bulk mulch locally to residential and commercial customers.
  • Truck cleanliness and daily maintenance of truck.
  • Must have common knowledge of GPS operation and ability to operate and navigate truck in a safe manner at all times.


Experienced Dump Truck Drivers

American Mulch Producers is seeking experienced Dump Truck Drivers to join our team. We are a seasonal business looking for individuals who would like to work 40+ hours April through September and be laid off for the remainder of the year. Two years of Manual Transmission CDL experience is required.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least one-year of dump truck driving experience.
  • Manual driving experience.
  • Valid medical card and clean truck driving record.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Transport bulk mulch locally to residential and commercial customers.
  • Truck cleanliness and daily maintenance of truck.
  • Must have common knowledge of GPS operation and ability to operate and navigate truck in a safe manner at all times.


Seasonal Customer Service Representatives

Bilingual Spanish to English preferred but not necessary


Responsibilities:

  • Utilize QuickBooks online to process customer transactions both in person, via phone, and email
  • Utilize QuickBooks online to run reports for customers
  • Scheduling of residential and commercial deliveries vis phone, and email
  • Discussing products and services with commercial and retail customers in person, via phone and email
  • Process customer payments via internet and take cash payments as needed
  • In person sales in our retail space
  • Restocking of retail space
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs
  • Filing and scanning of documents
  • Making outgoing customer calls
  • Scheduling of meetings and appointments
  • Attention to detail necessary to ensure information is accurate and correct
  • Must possess proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to adapt to change in the workplace such as working different schedules, assignments, shifts or work at various paces
  • Ability to work in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, disability etc.
